Individual contributors who are on a rotational schedule coordinated by the chair and reported to the President. This is a fun committee in charge of soliciting proud dollars, happy dollars, etc and levying fines against our members.

House Committee

Responsible for getting to the meeting place early to set up the podium, bell, flags, song books, etc and to take money. Also responsible for cleanup of the items. They will be on a rotating basis and assigned to a certain Thursday of the month. For example one will always be responsible for the first Thursday and someone different for the second Thursday.

Responsible for getting new member information and setting up a meeting usually a breakfast meeting with the committee. At the meeting club logistics will be presented to the proposed new member as well as information on Rotary International.

Group Study Exchange

Responsible for making arrangements for the visiting team for housing, entertainment and securing places for vocational/professional visits.

The Rotary Foundation

Understand the relationship between program participation and financial support of The Rotary Foundation. Work with club leaders to establish program participation and financial goals. Inspire members to support The Rotary Foundation

Youth Exchange Program:

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)

Responsible for interviewing and selecting students to attend the leadership seminar for one week. Responsible for reporting and filing paperwork with the District RYLA committee.

Responsible for being the advisor to the students that have formed the club and to relay information between the Oneonta Rotary Club and the Oneonta Community Interact Club

July 4th Committee

Responsible for securing a spot at the park and the salvation army canteen. As well as purchasing supplies and getting volunteers to work and participate.

Joe McCarthy Golf Tournament

Responsible for securing a date with the Country Club. As well as making signs, registration forms, pricing, donations, tee signs, etc. as needed for the tournament

Pancake Day

Responsible for securing a date with the Elks Club as well as purchasing supplies, making up tickets, flyers and getting volunteers to work and participate.

Disc Golf Tournament:

Responsible for working with Dave Coury in setting a date and collecting sponsors for an annual disc golf tournament.

Dictionary Committee

Responsible for getting the number and names of the third graders at area schools (Greater Plains, Center Street, Riverside, Valleyview, St. Mary’s, Lighthouse Community Christian School, Oneonta Community Christian School, Laurens) and ordering the dictionaries and labeling them. As well as setting up times for them to be handed out

Axel Axhoj Christmas Fund

Responsible for getting names of families from the Family Service Association and the Salvation Army. Number of children to be determined by the board.

Adopt-A-Highway:

Responsible for securing a date for the pick up one in the spring and one in the fall. As well as getting equipment and forms from the county highway department in Cooperstown and getting volunteers to work and participate

Halloween Parade:

Responsible for getting the information from the service club that is in charge that year and getting volunteers to help.

Operation Warm Coats:

Responsible for raising money, contacting schools, finding the need and carrying out the program following the guidelines set up by the board of directors

Ross Cordell Wrestling Tournament
